Lab TCG

The supplies we actually use

Everything below is gear we've bought repeatedly for collecting, selling, and running card operations. Two ways to buy: BCW direct, where code THELAB takes 10% off everything (usually the best price on BCW-made gear), or Amazon when you want it in two days.

Shop BCW Supplies → and use code THELAB at checkout for 10% off your whole order.

Protect your cards

The order of operations for anything worth money: penny sleeve, then toploader (or a graded sleeve once it's slabbed). Check what a card is worth before you decide how much protection it deserves.

Ship singles

Plain white envelope with a cardboard sandwich under ~$20 of value; bubble mailer with tracking above that. The gram scale keeps PWE postage honest.

Ship sealed product

Sealed moves in boxes, not mailers, once it's more than a couple of packs. Size the box to the product and fill the space; crushed corners kill resale value.

  • 8x6x4 boxes: ETBs, small lotsAmazon
  • 12x8x6 boxes: booster boxesAmazon
  • Large bubble mailers (8.5x12 / 10.5x16)Amazon
  • Kraft packing paperAmazon

Store and sort at scale

Somewhere around 5,000 cards, storage becomes the bottleneck. This is BCW's home turf; buy it direct with the code and it's cheaper than anywhere.

Equipment for volume sellers

None of this pays for itself until you're shipping most days. When you are, the thermal printer is the single best upgrade on this page.

Deciding what deserves a toploader? Every card page on The Lab shows live market value; start from the market boards. Ripping boxes? Check the booster box EV tracker first. Going from seller to store? Here's the playbook.

Disclosure: BCW and Amazon links on this page are affiliate links. Using them (or code THELAB) supports The Lab at no cost to you. We only list gear we've actually used.
