Eight decks made the top 8 in Baltimore and six days later not one of them costs more than it did the day before the final. Dylan Kasturi's winning Basic Box list went from $77.64 in singles to $75.15, Ben Dobberstein's runner-up Hydrapple deck from $48.19 to $45.48, and both Dragapult lists are about 10% cheaper. Across the 83 different cards in the eight lists, the median price is down 4.8%. The sales feed says why: buyers took 2% fewer copies of those cards a day after the event than before, about 5,100 a day, and what changed is which ones. The cards only the runner-up's Hydrapple lists play sold 19% more, the Basic Box attackers Latias ex and Teal Mask Ogerpon ex sold 50% and 47% more, and the cards only Dragapult plays sold 22% fewer. None of that stuck to prices for more than a day: Ogerpon's market price ran to $3.43 on September 23 and was $2.32 on September 26. The whole championship deck is $75.15 and 36% of that is one card, Hero's Cape. The list was $74.87 two weeks before the event, $77.64 the day before, $77.22 the day after the final and $75.15 on September 26. Take the Cape out and the other 45 cards cost $47.95. Cali White's sixth-place Basic Box runs a different ACE SPEC instead and costs $49.81; that is the version to buy if you want the deck and not the trophy's exact list.
What this means for you
Buy whichever of the eight you want to play. None of them spiked, the two expensive ACE SPECs (Hero's Cape, Unfair Stamp) are both cheaper than they were the day before the final, and the cheapest top 8 list is $33.31. Every row above has the PTCGL text and a one-click cart.
A top 8 is not a price event for cards the room already owned. The only cards over a dollar up 20% or more are Prime Catcher, Mega Kangaskhan ex, Hydrapple ex, none of them above $3, and the thinnest of them, Prime Catcher, sells about 7 copies a day. Watch the deck almost nobody brought, not the deck everybody brought.
List Latias ex, Teal Mask Ogerpon ex, Slowpoke and Hero's Cape now: they are selling 50%, 47%, 48% and 26% more copies a day than before the event. Do not raise prices to do it: Latias ex sold that many more copies while its price went -15%. The cards only Dragapult plays are selling 22% fewer copies, so price those to move.
What happened in Baltimore
The Baltimore Regional Championships ran September 19 to September 20, 2026, at the Baltimore Convention Center, with 3,122 players in Masters. It was the opening Regional of the 2027 Championship Series season and the first big event since Worlds three weeks earlier. 559 lists reached Day 2 (the second day, when the field is cut to the top records), and Dragapult ex, the deck that won Worlds, was 203 of them, 36.31% of the room. It took 2 of the eight top cut spots. Basic Box was 46 Day 2 lists (8.23%) and took 3, including the title. Hydrapple ex was 12 lists (2.15%) and finished second. Slowking (42 lists) and Alakazam (32) took the other two. Standings and every list are on Limitless.
Basic Box is not a new deck. It is a pile of strong Basic Pokemon (Mega Kangaskhan ex, Meowth ex, Latias ex, Teal Mask Ogerpon ex, Lillie's Clefairy ex, Raging Bolt ex) with a supporter engine, and Monster Card Corner's post-Worlds meta check already had it as the second most played archetype behind Dragapult. Sportskeeda's write-up of the event puts its Baltimore win rate at 53% and describes the idea as a bench of support Pokemon that can answer whatever the opponent brings, while still calling Dragapult the best deck in the format. The other camp was loud too: a creator's video titled "Baltimore ended Dragapult ex" had 38,000 views within four days of the final, and the four official TCG stream uploads were at 148,000 to 187,000 views each by September 25. So plenty of people watched Ben Dobberstein's Hydrapple ex with Meganium reach the final as one of 12 such lists in a 559-list Day 2. The question for prices is what those people did next, and this time the sales feed can answer it.
Deck by deck: the top cut got cheaper
Here is what the five archetypes cost in singles every day for the four weeks around the event, TCGplayer market price of every non-energy card on each list. The two Dragapult lists moved most, and down: $46.10 to $41.65 for Rohit Potti's list, because Dragapult ex itself ($2.80 to $2.53) and Unfair Stamp ($16.42 to $13.41) both gave back a run-up they had made in the days before the event. The runner-up's Hydrapple list is down 5.6% even though Hydrapple ex is up 26.4%, because it also runs Unfair Stamp. Not one of the eight lists costs more than it did the day before the final.

The other 63 cards are commons, uncommons and trainers under a dollar (61 of them under 50 cents). Their median move was down 5.9%, 6 rose 20% or more and 10 fell that much, but the biggest of those moves in money was 13 cents. Sold/day is average TCGplayer units per day for that printing, all conditions, September 5 to September 18 before and September 21 to September 25 after. Buy links are affiliate links.
Read the table top to bottom and the pattern from the Worlds piece repeats. Of the 20 cards over a dollar, 3 rose 20% or more (Prime Catcher, Mega Kangaskhan ex, Hydrapple ex) and none fell that much. Mega Kangaskhan ex is the Basic Box's main attacker and sells about 102 copies a day; Hydrapple ex is the runner-up's card and sells about 10; Prime Catcher is a $1.01 ACE SPEC in one list. The cards every list runs moved least: the five that appear in seven or eight of the lists (Fezandipiti ex, Night Stretcher, Meowth ex, Boss's Orders, Ultra Ball) went +3%, +8%, +13%, -8%, +5%. Everybody who plays the format already owns them, so a top cut full of them changes nothing.
What people bought: copies, not prices
Across the 83 cards in the eight lists, TCGplayer buyers took about 5,267 copies a day in the two weeks before the event, 4,974 a day over the two event days and 5,148 a day in the five days after it, September 21 to September 25. So the weekend did not make the room buy more cards. It changed which cards. Take the cards that only one archetype plays, the part of each deck that is that deck: the Hydrapple package sold 19% more copies a day after the final than before, the Dragapult package sold 22% fewer, and the Basic Box package sold about as many, because its attackers are shared with other lists and are counted below instead: Latias ex went from 42 copies a day to 63, Teal Mask Ogerpon ex from 30 to 44, Mega Kangaskhan ex from 102 to 125. The market read Baltimore the way the streams did, Basic Box is real and Dragapult is beatable, and it said so by moving copies.

The losers are as telling as the winners. Dragapult ex sold 31% fewer copies a day after Baltimore, Dudunsparce 28% fewer, and the Alakazam line (Abra, Kadabra, Alakazam) 33% fewer. Those are the two decks the streams had written off, one for losing and one for being easy to tech against, and the people who had been buying into them stopped.

Latias ex and Teal Mask Ogerpon ex: the cards people bought, and what that did to the price
Buy on TCGplayerBuy on TCGplayerLatias ex is in four of the eight lists (all three Basic Box decks and Slowking), it is the $5.26 card in each of them, and it went from about 42 copies a day before the event to 63 after it, the biggest jump of any card over a dollar. Its price fell 15%, $6.16 to $5.26. More buyers, lower price: sellers had the copies. Teal Mask Ogerpon ex is the Grass attacker in all three Basic Box lists and the energy engine in Dobberstein's Hydrapple deck, so it was on screen in the final from both sides, and it sold 47% more copies a day afterwards. Its market price is the lesson of this piece. It was $2.51 the day before the final, ran to $3.43 on September 23, and was $2.32 on September 26, -8% for the whole episode. A card that sells 30 to 50 copies a day has a market price set by a handful of sales, and it can move a third in a day in either direction. Anyone who wrote "Ogerpon up 35% after Baltimore" on day five was right for a day. Hydrapple ex is the one rise that has held so far: $1.74 to $2.20, on 26% more copies a day. That is a Stellar Crown Double Rare that 12 of 559 Day 2 lists played and that sells about 10 copies a day, and a market that thin moves on a few dozen buyers. Meganium, the evolution that makes the deck work, went $0.24 to $0.29, +21% on a card that is still under fifty cents.
Lillie's Clefairy ex and the shared cards: five lists, 17% more copies sold, and the price fell 18%
If a top cut appearance moved prices, this is the card that would prove it. Lillie's Clefairy ex is in five of the eight lists (all three Basic Box decks, Slowking and Alakazam), it is a Journey Together Double Rare rather than a common, and it sold about 44 copies a day before the event and 51 a day after it. Its price went from $2.28 the day before to $2.08 the day after and $1.86 on September 26, -18%. It was already sliding, $2.44 two weeks out, and the final did not interrupt the slide. The other shared attackers went their own ways: Meowth ex, in seven lists, +13%; Mega Kangaskhan ex, in four, +29%; Fezandipiti ex, in all eight, +3%. These are the cards the format already runs in everything. A Regional does not create a new buyer for a card every player has four of, and whatever their prices did this week, they did it on their own.

ACE SPECs are limited to one per deck and are the rarest trainers in a pack, which is why they carry the highest prices among trainers and why they decide the cost of a list. The eight lists use five different ones. Hero's Cape is in Kasturi's list only: $28.92 the day before the final, $30.75 the day after, $27.20 on September 26, while selling 26% more copies a day. That single card is why the winning list costs $25.34 more than Cali White's sixth-place Basic Box, which is the same archetype with a different ACE SPEC. Unfair Stamp is in four lists (Hydrapple, both Dragapults and Cucinelli's Basic Box) and did what it did at Worlds in reverse: it ran up to $16.42 into the event and settled to $13.41 after it, -18%, on 14% fewer copies a day. It is still the most expensive card in 4 of the eight lists. Enriching Energy, the Alakazam list's ACE SPEC, did the Ogerpon trick: $4.65 before the final, $5.73 on September 23, $3.76 on September 26. Secret Box, the Slowking list's, went -4% on 27% fewer copies a day. If you are buying a deck this week, the ACE SPEC is the one card worth watching for a few days; everything else is at or below the price it was before the weekend.
Two smaller moves worth knowing about if you play the decks: Slowpoke from Stellar Crown, four copies in the Slowking list and its most expensive card, went $3.28 to $3.62 (+10%) while selling 48% more copies a day, and Dunsparce, three copies in the Alakazam list and one in each Dragapult list, went $1.91 to $1.98 (+4%), back to where it was two weeks before the event.
When this reasoning fails
When the winner is a deck nobody was playing, or when a key card is out of print, the market has to find copies and prices move first. Baltimore had a little of the first: Hydrapple was 2.15% of Day 2, its package sold 19% more copies a day afterwards, and Hydrapple ex is one of the three cards over a dollar up 20% or more. It had none of the second: every card in the eight lists is from a set still in print, and the two most expensive cards are ACE SPECs that were already priced for scarcity before anyone shuffled. The other thing that would have changed my mind was the sales data, and it came in the other way: the room bought about as many copies after the event as before, moved them between decks, and sellers met every one of those moves with stock. If a future event ever shows volume doubling on a card while its price holds, that is the signal this one did not send.

- Decklists and placings: the Masters top 8 of the 2026 Baltimore Regional Championships, from the Limitless decklists page. Day 2 metagame counts from the Limitless event statistics (559 lists). - Prices: TCGplayer market price for the exact printing on each list, from The Lab TCG's nightly snapshots. Deck cost sums every non-energy card; basic energy is excluded because any printing plays the same. Each card links to its live page, so the numbers here will drift from the page over time; the tables are a record of September 26, 2026. Market price is TCGplayer's own recent-sales figure, and on cards that sell a few dozen copies a day it can move a third in a day, as Ogerpon shows.
- Sales: TCGplayer sales history for the same printings, all conditions, units per day, September 5 to September 18 for "before". "After" runs from September 21 to September 25; the feed's last day is partial and is left out. The feed stopped between September 19 and 25 when TCGplayer changed what it accepts from automated clients, and was backfilled from the full history once it was fixed, so every day is present.
- Players may run any legal printing, so some demand for a card lands on other printings than the one on the list.
