What this means for you

I collect

Do not preorder on TCGplayer at 2.6x MSRP. Try the retail preorder and the launch restocks first. If you want sealed Delta Reign now, the Booster Box is the smallest premium at 1.6x, or $7.25 a pack.

I invest

A presale premium is the seller's return, not yours. 30th Celebration's ETB was $191.29 at this point and $142.78 on Oct 9. Anyone who bought then is down 25%. Set an alert at MSRP and wait.

I sell

If you have allocation, list it now. The ETB, Booster Box and Booster Bundle have all fallen since their first presale prices, and 30th Celebration kept falling into launch day. Waiting has cost sellers money two sets running.

What launches, and when

Mega Evolution: Delta Reign (ME06 on TCGplayer) launches November 6, 2026. The prerelease Build & Battle Box comes first, dated October 24, 2026. TCGplayer's product description leads with Mega Rayquaza ex, then Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex and Mega Golisopod ex. Its cards are previewed by the Japanese set M6 Storm Emeralda, which is already out; the launch hub prices those cards too. Unlike 30th Celebration, Delta Reign is a main set with a 36-pack Booster Box, so there is a cheap way into packs at MSRP: $161.64, or $4.49 a pack. MSRPs are from the distributor list.

The price path so far: down, the Pokémon Center box too since Sep 18

TCGplayer first priced the Elite Trainer Box at $199.85 on Aug 22. By Aug 29 it was $142.09. On Oct 9 it was $130.18. The Booster Box went $374.79 to $261.12 (-30%), the Booster Bundle $99.90 to $77.32 (-23%). Most of the ETB and Booster Box drop came in the first week of listings. Since then it has been a slow slide.

The Pokémon Center ETB rose first: $495.00 on Aug 24, then a peak of $599.92 on Sep 18. It has given back 17% since, to $497.51 now (+1% on its first price). Its price moves in flat steps days apart, which usually means very few sales. At the same point before its launch, 30th Celebration's Pokémon Center ETB was $481.72. It lost 21% by launch day.

What 30th Celebration's presale did from here

30th Celebration launched September 16, 2026. 28 days before that was August 19, 2026, the same distance from launch Delta Reign is today. From that date to launch day, 9 of its 10 first-wave products fell, by a median of 18%. The Elite Trainer Box went $191.29 to $159.99, the Pokémon Center ETB $481.72 to $379.04.

Launch did not bring them back to MSRP. In the 23 days since, the median first-wave product moved -20%, and 9 of 9 were still above MSRP on Oct 9. The ETB is $142.78, 2.9x MSRP. Some kept falling after launch: Sylveon ex Box $76.36 to $55.99 (-27%), Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box $379.04 to $286.62 (-24%), Greninja ex Box $72.29 to $54.71 (-24%), Tech Sticker Collection [Lucario] $42.98 to $33.78 (-21%), Tech Sticker Collection [Alolan Exeggutor] $41.65 to $33.21 (-20%), Poster Collection $42.30 to $35.57 (-16%), Elite Trainer Box $159.99 to $142.78 (-11%), Tech Sticker Collection [Set of 2] $80.63 to $72.19 (-10%), Knock Out Collection $29.67 to $26.82 (-10%). The loose pack went $21.15 on launch day to $12.72. So the pattern is: the presale premium shrinks before launch and keeps shrinking after it, while staying above MSRP. Our full launch-day read is in the 30th Celebration presale piece.

First wave means the products that shipped on Sep 16. Booster Bundle, Binder, Mini Tins shipped Oct 2, too recently to compare. Battle Decks (Oct 30), Ultra-Premium and premium collections (Nov 6), ex Tins (reported) (Dec 4) have not shipped yet.

Pitch Black, the last main set with a Booster Box

30th Celebration had no Booster Box. Pitch Black, the last main set, did, and it launched July 17, 2026. Its Booster Box went $207.66 on launch day to $180.43 six weeks later (-13%); its ETB $80.55 to $69.85 (-13%). The slide kept going after launch.

When this reasoning fails

  • If the print run is small. Everything above assumes supply lands in waves the way it did for 30th Celebration and Pitch Black.
  • If the chase cards are big enough to carry the set. Ascended Heroes beat the post-launch slide on the pull of its Mega chase cards. Delta Reign has no English singles listed yet, so we cannot price that case directly. Our Delta Reign chase cards piece prices the Storm Emeralda cards and what the last four English sets did with theirs.
  • If the Pokémon Center ETB is different. It is the one Delta Reign product that rose in presale, to $599.92 on Sep 18, before falling back. Its price rests on very few sales, so treat $497.51 as an ask that cleared, not a market.
  • Thin markets move on a handful of listings. The ETB, Booster Box and Booster Bundle, priced every day since late August, are the series to trust.

Data notes

Prices are TCGplayer market prices captured nightly by The Lab TCG. Delta Reign prices are from October 9, 2026; 30th Celebration prices run to October 9, 2026. Pitch Black figures are from our 30th Celebration piece, captured through September 16, 2026. A product with no market price is shown as having no sales; we never fill it with a listing price. The 30th Celebration comparison uses the snapshot dated exactly 28 days before its launch and the one dated launch day. Cases are excluded. MSRPs are reported US list prices; retailers sometimes shelf-price higher. This piece uses no sales volume. Not financial advice.
